The ACP precast concrete wall panel system is a fast track construction method for storage and separation of bulk products including food materials.
Interlocking prestressed horizontal concrete panels span between steel support columns / kingposts to produce foundation free, uniform, smooth, robust, retaining walls & push walls
Precast vertical wall panels can be used to construct bunkers within the clear span of a building or external bunker structures.
The PCC kingpost retaining wall system is designed to provide rapid construction for single or multi store bulk facilities in new or existing/refurbished buildings. Precast concrete is the ideal solution for those looking for Modern Methods of Construction of bulk retaining walls.
Durable The robust nature of prestressed concrete wall panels makes these units resistant to damage from constant out-loading and easy to clean out between batches. Concrete walls formed using horizontal & vertical prestressed concrete panels give a 90º wall to floor joint. This eliminates potential damage points between the loading shovel and the precast wall unit commonly associated with traditional "L" and "T" section wall panels. Durability reduces the risk of contamination of the stored material from wall fragments.
Rapid Installation Precast panels are delivered to site made to measure. Manufactured in controlled environment factory conditions from engineering grade concrete, the panels are quickly erected. The developer can achieve significant programme benefits by the use of precast concrete walls and should lead to rapid completion of the project bringing the store into service at an earlier date.
Smooth Internal Finish The owner and/or user of the bulk store benefits from the high strength and smooth internal finish of the precast concrete panels. This food grade finish is easy to clean and eliminates worries about damp ingress or pest infestations within the walls.
Movable The modular precast horizontal wall panels can be dismantled & relocated to meet alterations to sub divisions and to facilitate extension to the structure. This modular nature also enables individual wall panels to be replaced in the unlikely event of excessive damage. This precast concrete solution saves cost, reduces down time and ensures the store is back in service as soon as possible without lengthy on site curing of repairs traditional site cast walls.
Horizontal precast concrete walling, supported by steel building or stub columns, can provide anything from a single retaining wall to a multi building bulk storage system. This system is also ideal for rapid cleaning of individual bunkers between storage batches. ACP (Concrete) Ltd have supplied panels for use in bulk grain and animal feed storage buildings; push walls in waste transfer stations; aggregate storage & fertiliser storage buildings; road salt stores and soil retaining.
The precast wall panels are available in three standard thicknesses to suit anticipated loadings and impacts (Click here for design data). The choice is dependant on the properties of the product to be stored, ie bulk density and angle of repose, the bay width, overall wall height and stored height of the product (level fill or surcharged). Units are manufactured in high grade 60N/mm prestressed concrete. They are available in many heights the most commonly used 1.0m, 1.2m & 1.5m. The units have high strength concrete interlocking tongue and groove joints enabling shock loads to be passed between panels reducing the likelihood of damage. Panel joints are sealed with high performance polyurethane mastic compound giving long life weatherproof joints. This also provides a smooth easy clean precast wall system.
An installation service can be part of a complete design & build precast package. Installation of the concrete panels is quick and simple and is usually carried out using a telehandler in place of more expensive cranage. This reduces installation costs and brings added flexibility to the progress of work on site.
